Jello Biafra, former front man of Dead Kennedys and owner of California based record company Alternative Tentacles played the 1’s and 2’s at Dallas’ punk club, Three Links, a few Mondays ago in Deep Ellum.

The event hosted to several KNON supporters and a large crowd of more than 200 punk patrons throughout the night. Punks decked out in leather spiked studs skanking and rocking out to DJ Biafra’s odd and funky tunes more than livened the party.

The Event known as Jello Biafra’s Incredibly Strange Dance Party was put together by several of KNON’s volunteers and Three Links owner Scott Beggs in support of KNON’s Sunday night Roulette Radio show.

Jennifer Sereno (Jen Leigh) host of Roulette Radio said the event raised more than $1,200 in donations.

Sereno said Beggs mentioned the event to her and The Roulette Radio host was completely on board, “We had little time to organize the event,” Sereno said. “After Scott mentioned Jello was performing, it was something that had to be done.”

Justin Box, a well-known Dallas chef supported the benefit by serving his own style of tacos, which he said nearly sold out.

“I offered Jello a warm Bore taco, spoke with him for a bit, he seemed to enjoy it,” Box said. “I’m always down for supporting local causes, but I really enjoyed the show.”

As far as the details of putting the event together, Jen and Three links did a great job, Steve Reeves co-host of Roulette Radio and local Deep Ellum photographer said. “The amount of cash that was raised, which might not seem a lot, really helps the show out.”
