A-Trak, a.k.a. Alain Macklovitch, is the quintessential cultural connector. His 20-year musical path has seen him take turns as an internationally renowned turntablist, founder of the iconic label Fool’s Gold, Grammy-nominated producer, innovative remixer and much more.

DJ, label head and producer A-Trak debuted “Not A Mystery” Thursday. The song follows his rework of ABBA’s classic “Voulez-Vous” and is the second in a series of forthcoming bootlegs, signature tracks from years of A-Trak’s storied DJ sets.

Of the new rework and Bootleg Series, A-Trak said in a press release, “I love flipping samples. It’s in my DNA as a hip-hop DJ even when I’m exploring other genres. The Bootleg Series is a way for me to share some quick track ideas without worrying about the motions of clearances. A little while back I was watching the Bobbito Garcia documentary Rock Rubber 45s and recognized a song in the background. I knew it was sampled in some rap records but I decided to make a house track out of it. And there you have it.”

“Not A Mystery” is the first from A-Trak in a slew of new music, mixes and collaborations coming from the renowned producer this year, as well as fresh artists and events from his label, Fool’s Gold. 2018 saw a banner year for A-Trak including hosting his second annual Goldie Awards in New York.

The DJ and Beat Battle competitions drew combatants, as young as 11, from Japan, New Zealand, Brazil, Portugal and Venezuela, as well as Mexico, Canada and the US. The year also saw A-Trak’s ninth annual Fool’s Gold Day Off in New York which saw performances from Sheck Wes, Show Me The Body, Junglepussy, Venus X, Chynna and more.
