The Roomsounds
The Roomsounds have been making music in Dallas for several years, led by singer/guitarist Ryan Michael. They released their debut self-titled album in 2012, and their widely well-received sophomore album in 2016 – featuring single “Elm St,” and KXT radio heavy-rotation track “Baby’s Got the Bluest Eyes.” Recently guitarist Nick Snyder played with the band at Three Links in Deep Ellum, bringing his bluesy flare to the American roots rock style of the band. Strongly influenced by the Rolling Stones & Tom Petty, the catchy rhythm and lyrics capture the attention of a variety of listeners. Their energetic live show is one not to miss if you can help it. Matthew Allan Holmes
Matthew Allan Holmes is best known for his career in acting, but this year he has been expanding his horizons into the Dallas music scene. Matthew has been playing cello since he was in 4th grade – giving him 16 years behind the strings, growing up classically trained and being part of orchestra, quartets, and solo exhibitions. When he entered college he began experimenting with contemporary work, jamming with guitarists and other musicians. Earlier this year he met Dallas band Sagacious Zoo (led by mandolin player Brighton Dwinnell), bringing together a unique combination of alternative/indie and traditional celtic-sounding music. Pillow Pocket
Pillow Pocket has hit the jam band scene hard with their upbeat elects-funk sound, “providing high-energy grooves that are cooler than the other side of the pillow.” The band recently performed at Flowmoon alongside Consider The Source at Deep Ellum Art Company. The sound was embraced by the crowd, gathering interested new fans close to the front of the stage during their set. The dreamy guitar tones combined with sometimes reggae/ska style vocals kept the vibe bouncy and fun, driven by the tight grooves of the drums & bass.
