80’s punk rocker, UT Dallas Professor Mike Farmer attributes his early musical influences to the low-fi fuzzy sounds of his band, Prof. Fuzz 63.

As lead singer and lead vocalist for the band, Farmer states “The Fuzz’s” sound is like Leonard Cohen fronting for The Cramps with a singer songwriter like punk genre.

With the bands 3rd Anniversary this Halloween, “The Fuzz” started with various musicians in the band but has now emerged somewhat like a punk rock Partridge Family.

The group currently consists of, “The Fuzz,” Mike Farmer as lead vocals/guitar, Maren Farmer on organ and Brooks Farmer (son of Mike and Maren) on Drums.

The Prof. Fuzz 63 first album was released in January of 2016, titled Chinese Folks Songs recorded at Cloundland studios in Fort Worth.

The Prof. along with schoolteacher Maren Farmer have released 2 full-length albums and an EP since the band has emerged. While Brooks Farmer has recently been added to The Prof. Fuzz 63 as drummer, the band seems to be making a good heads way.

You can catch the Prof. Fuzz 63 at Arlington’s Division Brewing the 28th of October

  1. A couple of minor corrections to an otherwise embarrassingly flattering article:

Paragraph 2: CHANGE “Leonard Cohen fronting for the Velvet Underground” to “Leonard Cohen fronting The Cramps”

Paragraph 5: Chinese Folk Songs was recorded in October 2015 and released in January 2016

Paragraph 6: We have released two full-length albums and one EP.

    Thanks again for the love!
